Naamehnay Project-Question of Power is a Federal 50lc3 non-profit. Our mission is to create visual voices for individuals, families and communities affected by the mining, transportation and consumption of coal across America.

To be able to produce objective photographic documentary stories we solely rely on private funding. This is accomplished by our yearly motorcycle fund-raiser, tax-deductible photographic workshops, and from individuals who support us throughout the year.

On August 2, 2013 I'll saddle up my trusty Harley and head for Sturgis, SD for the 73rd annual largest gathering of motorcycle enthusiasts in the world.  Sturgis was started in l938 by nine bikers who called themselves the Jackpine Gypsies Motorcycle Club.  This year over 500,000 people and bikes will come together to immerse themselves in America's motorcycle culture at its very best, and you're invited.  Join me as I photograph (uncensored version) and blog Sturgis Unleashed without leaving the comfort of your home.

Private photography workshops and mentorships are available for the beginner to the advanced photography enthusiast.  You'll work one on one with Carlan as he shares years of teaching experience in traditional film or digital capture.  Workshop fees are a tax-deductible donation to Naamehnay Project.
